Colorado Parks and Wildlife has a new online system for buying hunting licenses. CPW staff in Durango is holding an open house, 4-8pm on Tuesday, March 20, at the La Plata County Fairgrounds to explain the new system and answer questions.
Hunters who are applying for limited licenses are urged to get familiar with the new system before the annual draw deadline on April 3. The new integrated purchasing system is a one-stop shop for all items that can be purchased from Colorado Parks and Wildlife. This includes all hunting and fishing licenses and required stamps, annual parks passes, camping reservations and merchandise.
Hunters also should note that paper applications for limited hunting licenses have been discontinued.
All customers will now have to use only one system and have one account for any and all purchases from CPW. With the new system, customers can look up past and current purchases, application history and preference points all in one place. Hunters can change their applications themselves up until the draw deadline, ensuring that the application goes through the draw exactly as they intend.
Those who cannot attend the open-house can call the Durango wildlife office for information, 970-247-0855; and explanations are also available on the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website at http://cpw.state.co.us.
