Investing in Colorado Mountain Property FAQs

Colorado is a land of many different wonders. It is one of the few states that possesses a multitude of climate zones. Not just pine forested mountains, Colorado is also home to high-country deserts, prairies, valleys, river basins, and of course alpine landscapes. There’s probably a lot about Colorado you didn’t know, so we are here to help you figure it out.

Here are some frequently asked questions that might help in your decision to invest in Colorado mountain property:

Is all the land in Colorado already privately owned?

Colorado has plenty of land, with much of it being public! With over 35% of the area of the state being some type of public land, it is always available to thrill seekers and retirees alike.

Is it always cold and snowy in Colorado?

Colorado boasts more sunny days on yearly average than Los Angeles, CA, and that includes the winter months. With those sunny days also comes a variety of seasons. Albeit short for spring and fall, winter and summer provide several months of recreational possibilities for hunters, fishing, recreational vehicle use, and individual outdoor sports such as hiking, climbing, and backpacking.

Is it a good time to buy land in Colorado?

Right now, interest rates are at an all-time low and despite an influx of non-native Coloradans, properties are relatively inexpensive. The prices can only go up from here, so act fast!

Is it all just cabins and dirt roads?

There is such a variety of land available. From ranches and farms whose ownership goes all the way back to the homesteading years, to luxury homes build on the side of mountains, to all points in between, Colorado has a little something for everyone.

What kinds of properties are available?

If you are planning on just building a vacation home, for either summer or winter, or getting off the grid and doing a little bit of modern homesteading, you are in luck. We have undeveloped properties adjacent to public lands which are ideal for quick hunting or fishing trips, or just providing a little bit more of a buffer between you and the neighbors. If you want to try your hand at farming or ranching, there are properties available. If you would rather build a cabin in the woods to enjoy the silence and solitude of nature, there are properties like that as well.

What if I don’t always want to be in the country?

Our property listings are fairly close to the Front Range. An hour west of Colorado Springs, or two hours west of Denver, you can drive back and forth depending on your mood for country life or what the city has to offer.
