Adventure is awaiting you in colorful Colorado.

Climate

When it comes to moving to Colorado, one aspect that residents love is the fact that you get to experience all 4 seasons. Colorado’s summers are filled with warm days and cool nights. This, paired with low humidity, makes Colorado perfect for enjoying the great outdoors. While Fall is often short in Colorado, it is filled with stunning views of bright yellow and fiery red aspen groves that can be found across the state. Autumn in Colorado brings cooler weather and often the first snowstorm of the year, but still is filled with many warm, beautiful days. Winter in Colorado can be the hardest adjustment for many Texans. Colorado winters are cold and snowy, but luckily, the state boasts over 300 days of sunshine, and many of the state’s residents still get out and enjoy the great outdoors in the crisp cool air. With a little extra winter clothing, you will be ready to explore Colorado in one of its most scenic seasons. In the Spring, Colorado begins to warm up and gives residents a spectacular sight of green hillsides filled with a wide variety of wildflowers. It’s one of the nicest times of the year in Colorado and is a great time to enjoy the Colorado sunshine. Each season brings its own unique personality and provides Coloradans with amazing opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

Outdoor recreation

Recreational opportunities in Colorado are unmatched, and the state offers something for everyone. The ¾ of the state consisting of public lands gives families the opportunity for residents to get outside and enjoy hiking, mountain biking, ATV trails, skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, hunting, fishing, and so much more. Because of the state’s great weather, it’s hard to find days where it’s not worth getting outside. Colorado is home to 4 stunning National Parks, 42 beautiful state parks, and countless acres of national forest and grassland waiting to be explored. There is truly something for everyone here in Colorado.

Booming Economy

Colorado has had one of the fastest-growing economies in the US over the past decade. This is due to the rapid growth of the front range along with the desirability Colorado brings to its residents. Luckily for those moving here, this shows no signs of slowing down. Some of Colorado’s highest performing industries include mining, government, tourism, construction, agriculture, hospitality, retail trade, education, health services, and more.

Cost of Living

Colorado’s cost of living is slightly higher than most states due to the change in population the state has seen over the past decade. This is mostly due to housing costs, as the average home price is 60 percent higher than the national average. Luckily Colorado has one of the lowest property tax rates in the country. This is contradicted by the high-income tax rate in Colorado, which can come as a shock when moving from Texas’ zero income tax. On average, the other elements of living in Colorado are slightly more expensive than in Texas, and you can expect to spend about 30 percent more on things like groceries, household goods, and entertainment. While it may cost more to live in Colorado, the median household income is higher than in Texas, making the actual cost of living comparable to the Lone Star State.
